Evaluation of Groundwater Vulnerability in the Upper Kelkit Valley (Northeastern Turkey) Using DRASTIC and AHP-DRASTICLu Models

چکیده

This study aimed to investigate groundwater vulnerability pollution in the Upper Kelkit Valley (NE Turkey). For this purpose, index maps were created using generic DRASTIC and AHP-DRASTICLu models. The latter model was suggested by adding a parameter weighting its parameters with analytical hierarchy process GIS technique. results showed that areas high very vulnerabilities are concentrated around Stream, which flows from east west central part of area. In contrast, low classes located northern southern parts To validate results, physicochemical characterization samples their corresponding values statistically compared Spearman correlation method. addition, single-parameter sensitivity method applied analyze models’ sensitivities. Results revealed stronger between (compared model) terms sulfate (R2 = 0.75) chloride 0.76), while there slightly weaker for electrical conductivity 0.65) samples. Sensitivity analysis indicated vadose zone, aquifer media, land use most influential responsible highest variation index. Generally speaking, performs better than investigating Valley.

Aquifer Vulnerability Assessment for Sustainable Groundwater Management Using DRASTIC

Groundwater management and protection has been facilitated by computational modeling of aquifer vulnerability and monitoring aquifers using groundwater sampling. The DRASTIC (Depth to water, Recharge, Aquifer media, Soil media, Topography, Impact of vadose zone media, and hydraulic Conductivity) model, an overlay and index GIS model, has been used for groundwater quality assessment because it r...

natural aquifer vulnerability can be defined as reaching pollution to groundwater and the possibility to propogate in it after land contamination. this is a relative specification, with no dimension and cannot be measured; which it is not only depended on aquifer specification but also on geological and hydrological characteristics of the aquifer of the region. varieties of methods have been de...
